Who is Heatable?

We’re a bunch of New Englanders who have been working in the heating oil delivery business for, well… let’s just say a while.

Over the years, we’ve watched technology improve many of the industries around us (Getting low on dogfood? Amazon will deliver it in two days. Wondering the score of last night’s game? Just ask Siri. Need a taxi in the middle of nowhere? Uber’s got your back). So we thought, why should ordering heating oil be any different?

And that’s why we founded Heatable - the smart way to manage your home heating oil needs. It’s a simple endeavor to save people time, money and aggravation by bringing low-priced heating oil into the Digital Age. No need to scour the web for a price, try to find a phone number or call between 8 and 5. Order anywhere, anytime, online or with our smartphone app. Just Tap, Tap, Swipe and we bring the heat (in our beautiful orange trucks – you can’t miss ‘em!).

We made our first (very exciting!) oil delivery back in October of 2018 and let’s just say, it went over pretty well. Since then we’ve racked up over 1,000 five-star Google reviews and Facebook recommendations and expanded our delivery area to include 200+ towns in Maine and New Hampshire (check ‘em out) – with more to come! What is Heatable?

The simple answer? We’re a heating oil delivery company. Except, instead of having to call us for a price or to order between 8 and 5 (right smack in the middle of your work day) – the Heatable website and smartphone app make it simple and easy to order heating oil on your schedule. You can see our super low heating price and place an order from your computer or smartphone wherever you are, whenever you want. Do it from work, from your couch, even from your bed in the middle of the night (on that rare occasion when you wake up in a cold sweat because you forgot to fill your tank and it’s 10 degrees outside). Just Tap, Tap, Swipe - and we bring the heat! No calling. No waiting. No worries. It’s heating oil delivery, for the Digital Age.

How does Heatable make ordering heating oil smarter?

Well, we make it faster. And cheaper. And easier. And you can do it from your phone.

Oh, and we also give you access to your entire order history – when you last ordered, how much, how long it lasted, and what you paid for it – right from your phone or computer. No more digging through the junk drawer for old receipts. And if you choose, we’ll also shoot you an email letting you know when the price has gone up or down significantly, so you can be sure to order at the lowest possible price.

Where is Heatable based?

Our “headquarters” (ahem, small office space) is located in South Portland, Maine – but our people and trucks operate from several locations in Maine and New Hampshire – and the list is constantly growing. Just in the last year we’ve more than doubled our delivery areas and we’re adding new towns all the time. Keep an eye out for our bright “rorange” (red-orange) trucks, coming soon to an oil tank near you!

Who owns Heatable?

We’re owned by Dead River Company, a 110-year veteran in the full-service heating oil and propane industry. We only bring it up so you know we’re not some fly-by-night operation out of your college roommate’s basement. When you work with Heatable, you’re dealing with Heatable – a smart little company hatched by a small group of forward-thinking heating oil pros who just happen to be  a little tech-savvy. We set our own prices, make our own business decisions, and deliver home heating oil to people who want to order it on their own schedule.

What’s the difference between Heatable and Dead River Company?

Dead River Company is perfect for the folks who want the full range of services and options that come with a full-service company, like 24-hour equipment service, price protection programs, automatic delivery, and budget programs. If that’s what you are looking for, give them a call and they’ll be happy to help. If you simply want the easiest way to order at the lowest price and you prefer to manage your deliveries and equipment service yourself, then Heatable is the way to go.

Does Heatable have its own trucks?

Yes! We handle all our own deliveries, so we can make sure the oil shows up when we promised. Period.
